Louise By The Shore Animation Screening- Tournee’s French Film Series
October 19 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
On the last day of summer, elderly Louise realizes that the last train has departed without her, and she finds herself alone in a small seaside resort town. The weather quickly turns for the worse, and the fragile and coquettish woman is not prepared to make it through the winter. She takes her abandonment as a challenge, and she is determined to survive by confronting the elements as well as her memories, which have found the perfect occasion to join in the adventure.
This offbeat gem is truly one of a kind and a welcome reminder from French veteran Jean-François Laguionie that animation can be a medium for quiet lyricism and characters rarely given center stage in live action film.
Guest Speaker – Dr. Gisèle Loriot-Raymer, Northern Kentucky University
